Chris Porter Assiged on Conditioning

St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has assigned forward Chris Porter to the Blues' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen for conditioning.

Porter, 27, has appeared in 25 games with the Blues this season posting three points (two goals, one assist) and four penalty minutes. Last season, Porter played in 36 games for the Rivermen before being recalled by the Blues for the remainder of the season. He scored nine goals and added 11 assists for 20 points and 63 penalty minutes.

Since turning pro for the 2007-08 season, Porter has appeared in 270 games with the Rivermen. He ranks second in games played (eight behind Nicholas Drazenovic), sixth in assists (70), seventh in points (111), and penalty minutes (260), and eighth in goals (41),

The Toronto, Ontario native was originally signed by the Blues as a free agent on Aug. 21, 2007. He was drafted by Chicago in the ninth round (#232) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
