Oil Kings to Host Superhero Night in Support of Edmonton's Food Bank
March 2, 2023 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Edmonton Oil Kings News Release
Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings will take to Rogers Place ice this Saturday, March 4 against the Swift Current Broncos at 7:00 p.m. donning a special edition Superhero jersey.
During the game, the game-worn sweaters will be silent auctioned and raffled off with the net proceeds being donated to Edmonton's Food Bank.
"Every month, Edmonton's Food Bank helps more than 30,000 people in our community," said Oil Kings Director of Business Operations Kevin Radomski. "For us to be able to hold a night like this and lend a hand to this tremendously important group is something we feel very passionate about."
In addition to the Superhero themed jerseys, fans attending Rogers Place on Saturday will not only be treated to world-class junior hockey, but also plenty of fun and unique in-game entertainment and contests centered around their favourite Superheroes.
On the concourse and in the stands, fans will be able to interact and take photos with some of their favourite Superhero characters as well.
"As much as the players on the ice are superheroes to many of our fans, Saturday night offers our fans the opportunity to become the superheroes for the evening," added Radomski. "By purchasing the jerseys - either by silent auction or raffle - our fans will help us raise money for Edmonton's Food Bank and support those in our community that need a helping hand.
"It's a win-win and we get to have a lot of fun while doing it... what can be better?"
The Edmonton Oil Kings next home game is Superhero Night, Saturday, March 4 against the Swift Current Broncos at 7:00 p.m.
