Medicine Hat, AB - Oasiz Wiesblatt (Calgary, AB) lead the way with a four-point night, and Evan May (Nanaimo. BC) made 40 saves as the Medicine Hat Tigers downed the Winnipeg ICE 6-4 Wednesday Night at Co-op Place.

The Eastern Conference leaders got things started just 2:48 in as Easton Armstrong solves Tigers starter Evan May, the ICE weren't done just under three minutes later as Zach Ostaphchuk would counter on a Tiger turnover at 5:25 gaining the Winnipeg lead to 2-0.

Then on their first power play of the night, Wiesblatt would then re-direct an Andresen point shot at 14:22 to tie the game at 2-2. Cayden Lindstrom (Chetwynd, BC) orchestrated the goal with his 18th assist of the season. Winnipeg would outshoot Medicine Hat 14-11 after the opening 20 minutes.

Off to the second period and the Tigers would take the lead thanks to Andrew Basha (Calgary, AB), as he was sent in on a break-away via Wiesblatt & St. Martin at exactly 3:00 into the middle frame. But the ICE would tie things up on a power play as Connor McClennon would snap a shot past May at 13:11 for his 40th of the year but just 1:10 later, cue Cru Hanas (Highland Village, TX), Hanas would tap home his first Western Hockey League goal from Shane Smith (Cessford, AB) to give the Tigers a 4-3 lead heading to the 3rd.

The final period would see the Tigers see a 16 shot surge from the ICE but the Tigers would get some much needed insurance from Wiesblatt with his 24th of the year, 2nd goal of the night and 4th point of the evening at 8:03. The game was far from over though after a couple of infractions to the Orange and Black, Matthew Savoie would wire in his 32nd of the year on a 5 on 3 for Winnipeg, making it another one goal game at 10:27.

Reid Andresen would score the final goal of the night with his 7th of the season from an great pair of efforts from Dallon Melin & Cayden Lindstrom at 15:51 to make it 6-4 Tigers, despite the push from the Top Team in the CHL, WHL and Eastern Conference, Evan May would be battle tested and shut the door on route to the Tigers 25th win of the season.

With the win the Tigers move to 25-24-8-1 and 3rd in the Central Division and 7th in the Eastern Conference Standings, while the loss snaps the ICE's winning streak at 11 games, as they lose their 8th game, now 48-8-1.

Tiger special teams would be busy going 1/3 on the power play and 4/6 on the penalty, while the ICE would outshoot the Tigers 44-28.

Next up is an off day for the Tigers before turning their attention to the Edmonton Oil Kings for the 4th time this season and Edmonton's second visit to Co-op Place Friday Night.
