Prince George Cougars News Release
Prince George BC - The Prince George Cougars are excited to announce that forward Jaxsen Wiebe (02) has signed a three-year Entry-Level Contract with the Anaheim Ducks.
"I am thrilled to be joining the Anaheim Ducks organization after signing my first NHL contract," said Wiebe. "It is a great opportunity with all of the young talent they have there, and I am eager for the journey ahead."
Wiebe, 20, has collected 31 points in 34 games this season between the Cougars and Edmonton Oil Kings. Wiebe was acquired by the Cougars on November 28th, and has registered 27 points (11G-16A) in 28 games with the Cats.
"I want to say a big thank you to my family, billet families, friends, teammates, Thunder Creek Agency, coaches, and all of the supporting staff I've had the pleasure of getting to know over the past 5 years of my junior career," added Wiebe.
The Moose Jaw, SK native had a memorable 2021-22 season with the Edmonton Oil Kings, capturing a WHL Championship and scoring a hat-trick in the Memorial Cup. In 158 WHL games in his career, Wiebe owns 87 points (33G-54A) and 274 penalty minutes.
"He's a player that has earned this contract by working hard, excelling in his role, and believing in himself" commented General Manager & Head Coach Mark Lamb.
The Prince George Cougars would like to congratulate Jaxsen Wiebe on the terrific accomplishment.
The Cats are back in action Friday, March 3rd and 4th on home ice against the Spokane Chiefs. You can purchase your tickets online at www.ticketsnorth.ca or visit the TicketsNorth box office located at the CN Centre.
