Ams Host Thunderbirds for Lone Home Game this Week
Published on March 2, 2023 under Western Hockey League (WHL)
Tri-City Americans News Release
The Ams and Thunderbirds will meet tonight for the fifth time in their seven game season series.
Tri-City is 1-2-1-0 against Seattle so far this season. They most recently met last Friday in Seattle when the Ams fell 6-1. Seattle sits at the top of the Western Conference and is on an impressive 10-game winning streak. Tri-City, facing challenges with injuries, has struggled lately with a 2-6-1-1 record over their last 10 games. The Ams will look to snap a two-game losing trend and get back into the win column tonight.
Jackson Smith, the second-overall selection in the 2022 WHL Prospect Draft has been called up and will join Tri-City for their three games this weekend. He made his debut earlier this season and contributed a pair of assists in his second ever WHL game. The 2007-born defenseman has played 16 games this season with Edge School U16 Prep, collected five goals and four assists.
Record: Tri-City 27-23-5-2 (61 PTS) | Seattle 45-9-1-1 (92 PTS)
