WEEK IN REVIEW

Last Tuesday at the BOK Center, the Oilers fell to the Missouri Mavericks 5-4 and lost in regulation on home ice for the first time this season. The Oilers were able to overcome a two-goal deficit early in the third period but Jared Brown restored the Mavs' lead at 5:45 of the final period and Missouri was able to hold on for its second win of the season over the Oilers.

Saturday's contest in Allen was tied 3-3 heading into the third and the Americans were able to score three times in the span of 2:03 to break the game wide open and cruise to a 6-4 win. The Oilers were outshot 43-30 and 12 of the 16 Americans skaters registered at least one point.

The Oilers earned a weekend split with the Americans by bouncing back for a 3-2 victory on Sunday. Defenseman Jake Obermeyer buried a perfect pass from Adam Pleskach with only 50 seconds remaining in regulation to give Tulsa two points and snap a two-game skid. Kevin Carr turned aside 30 shots and the Oilers successfully eliminated seven Americans power plays.

DIVISION LEADER

With 32 goals in eight games, the Oilers are the highest-scoring team in the Central Division and the fifth-highest scoring team in the ECHL. Tulsa is averaging exactly four goals per game and only Fort Wayne (4.33) and Allen (4.17) are producing more offense. The Oilers also lead the Central Division with 169 penalty minutes.

KILLING IT

Since surrendering eight power play goals in their first four games, the Oilers' penalty kill has been flawless over the last four games. The Tulsa PK unit has wiped away 20 consecutive opposing power plays and has climbed from dead last in the league rankings to 20th with an overall 80-percent success rate.

STREAKING ROOKIE

Held without a point in his first three games, rookie center Jeff Jubinville has recorded at least one point in four straight appearances and is on the longest point streak of any Oiler this season. The Edmonton native, who scored his first professional goal on Saturday night in Allen, has a goal and four assists in his last four outings.

DYNAMIC DUO

Top-line forwards Adam Pleskach and Jon Booras have accounted for 25 of the Oilers 89 total points or 28-percent of the total offense. Pleskach is tied for the ECHL lead with nine goals and Booras continues to lead the league with 11 assists. Both players are averaging more than 1.5 points per game and have registered five multi-point games.

DIFFERENT STRIKES

The Oilers have found a way to score goals in nearly every possible odd-man situation. Tulsa has scored on traditional 5-on-4 power plays (5 times), a 5-on-3 power play (1 time), and a 4-on-3 power play (1 time). The Oilers have also netted a pair of shorthanded goals and scored with an extra attacker.

STRESSFUL STRETCH

On Friday at the BOK Center, the Oilers will begin a stretch of 10 games over the final 17 days of November. Tulsa is scheduled for three back-to-backs during that span with seven of the 10 games slated for home ice.

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS

Seven of the Oilers eight games this season have been decided by two goals or less and five of the eight have been decided by a single goal. Tulsa is 3-1-1 in one-goal games.

EXTRA DROPS

Defenseman Ricards Birzins made his North American debut on Saturday in Allen...Bruce Ramsay will coach his 700th professional game on Saturday against Missouri...Brady Hjelle made 37 saves in his first game as an Oiler on Saturday...Tulsa is 3-0-0 when leading after the first period.
