Kalamazoo will begin the week this Wednesday, November 12th with a special 10:30 a.m. face-off versus the Fort Wayne Komets on Education Day presented by United Healthcare. Wednesday will be the fourth of 15 regular season encounters between the K-Wings and Komets. On the season Kalamazoo is 1-1-1-0 against Fort Wayne, who begins the week in first place (8-1-0-0, 16 points) in the North Division.

The K-Wings and Royals will square off again at Wings Stadium on Saturday, November 15th at 7:30 p.m. Saturday will be the 2nd Annual Bell's Blue Ice Game, featuring Bell's Winter White Ale. Kalamazoo will be wearing special Bell's jerseys that will be auction off following the game with the proceeds benefiting Gryphon Place.

This will be the second of four meetings between the K-Wings and Royals, who start the week in seventh place (3-5-0-0, 6 points) in the East Division.

The following is the K-Wings practice schedule for the week (subject to change) -Tuesday: 10:00-11:30 am (Wings Stadium) -Wednesday: No Morning Skate due to Education Day beginning at 10:30 a.m. -Thursday: 10:00-11:30 am (Wings Stadium) -Friday: 10-11 am (Morning State at Wings Stadium in preparation for game Vs Reading) -Saturday: 10:15-11 am (Morning State at Wings Stadium in preparation for game Vs Reading)

KALAMAZOO - Avoiding overtime the Kalamazoo Wings received a goal from Alex Mallet (3rd) with 20 seconds remaining in regulation to defeat the Elmira Jackals 3-2 Friday night at Wings Stadium.

The K-Wings will host the Reading Royals this Saturday during the 2nd Annual Bell's Blue Ice Game featuring Bell's Winter White Ale. Kalamazoo will wear special Bell's jerseys for the game that will be auctioned off with the proceeds benefiting Gryphon Place.

Home Sweet Home

The K-Wings are unbeaten in regulation at home this season posting a record of 2-0-1-0. Kalamazoo will play three games at Wings Stadium this week.

Nearing History

Goaltender Joel Martin is closing in on K-Wings history. Martin, who has 55 ECHL victories with Kalamazoo, is just three wins shy of tying Ryan Nie (58) for the all-time team lead in ECHL history.

Defensive Battle

Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Elmira Jackals marked the first time this season the K-Wings have won a game when scoring two or fewer goals. On the season Kalamazoo is 1-2-0-0 when scoring under three goals

The Obscure Stat of the Week

The K-Wings will head back to school on Wednesday when they play the Fort Wayne Komets on Education Day presented by United Healthcare. All-time Kalamazoo is 11-7-1-1 in morning games, including 7-7-0-1 at Wings Stadium.
