Defenseman Michal Cajkovsky Recalled to Hershey Bears

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 22 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry, announced today that defenseman Michal Cajkovsky has been recalled to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Cajkovsky, 22, scored one goal and three assists for four points in 10 games with the Stingrays this season after being assigned to the team by the Bears on October 10. Last season, the Bratislava, Slovakia, native was named to the ECHL All-Rookie team, led all rookie defensemen and finished ninth overall among blueliners with 36 points (14 goals, 22 assists) and tied for second overall among defensemen in goals while playing in 66 games with the Reading Royals.

Prior to turning pro, Cajkovsky competed in three seasons of junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Ottawa 67's and Kingston Frontenacs acquiring 70 points (17 goals, 53 assists) in 192 games. In his final season, Cajkovsky netted a career-best 34 points (10 goals, 24 assists) in 66 games, finishing second among team defensemen.

The Stingrays take on the Greenville Road Warriors to continue the Battle of the Palmetto State tonight, Monday, November 10 at 7:00 p.m. the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.

The Stingrays return to the North Charleston Coliseum, open a five-game homestand and a three-game in three-day weekend on Friday, November 14 against the Florida Everblades at 7:05 p.m. Friday is Family 4 Pack Friday! Grab four tickets, four hotdogs, four sodas and a large popcorn for $55 at the Coliseum Box Office! College students and active members of the military can catch the action for only $7 with ID at the Box Office.
