South Carolina Stingrays News Release


The South Carolina Stingrays wrapped up a five-game homestand at the North Charleston Coliseum this week for a week record of 0-2-0-1 and earning an overall record of 2-5-0-3.

The Stingrays hosted the Toledo Walleye on Tuesday for 2x2 Tuesday and carried a 3-1 lead late into the third period before the Walleye mounted a comeback to take down the Stingrays 4-3 in the shootout. Forward Cory Kane, who was recalled to the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL) shortly after the contest, recorded a goal and an assist for the Stingrays.

On Friday, the Stingrays took on the top team in the East Division, the Florida Everblades. Forward Jack Downing registered two assists, but the Everblades skated to a 6-3 win. The week wrapped up Sunday afternoon, falling to the Gwinnett Gladiators 4-2. Forward Joey Diamond recorded two assists and defenseman Garrett Haar scored his first professional goal.
