
Norwalk Appreciation Night This Saturday

BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's 2001-02 Regular Season Champion and Eastern Conference Playoff Champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, will hold "Norwalk Appreciation Night" when they host the Binghamton Senators this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard. "Norwalk Appreciation Night" will be presented by The Norwalk Hour.
Norwalk residents who show proof of residency at the Harbor Yard box office can purchase tickets for Saturday's game at a discounted price of $19.50 for center-ice seats if purchased in advance and $12.50 for all other seats up until the night of the game. Norwalk children will receive a Sound Tigers Spirit Item, while supplies last, with all advance phone purchases. Employees of Norwalk businesses can also purchase tickets at a discounted price of $12.50, and businesses that purchase more than ten tickets will be recognized over the public address system.
Other "Norwalk Appreciation Night" activities will include:
â¢A ceremonial, pregame face-off with Mayor Alex Knopp.
â¢Students from the West Rocks Middle School String Ensemble performing the national anthem with the colors presented by Scout Pack 66 from Kendall School prior to the game.
â¢Recognition of the Norwalk High School â Brien McMahon High School hockey team, the Norwalk Mentor Program and the Best Buddies Norwalk Program.
â¢An intermission MasterCard mini-hockey game.
â¢Discounted tickets for all scouts and their families and the third in a series of three Sound Tigers / Scout patches for all scouts as part of "Scout Appreciation Weekend".
â¢A post-game autograph session with Sound Tigers Defenseman Tomi Pettinen.
The Sound Tigers will open a three-game homestand when they host the Manitoba Moose Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. They will also host the Manchester Monarchs Friday at 7:35 p.m. and the Binghamton Senators Saturday at 7:05 p.m. The Sound Tigers will visit the Springfield Falcons Sunday at 4 p.m. All Sound Tigers' games are broadcast live on "The ZONE" FOX Sports Radio 1300 AM and at www.soundtigers.com. WSTC/WNLK 1400/1350 AM also broadcasts road games.
