JERSEY AUCTION RAISES OVER $30,000 FOR MDA
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. â Last Friday, the Norfolk Admirals' post-game jersey auction to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) raised $30,250, nearly twice as much as last season's jersey auction. The winning bids for each of the players' jerseys are listed below.
Following their game with Manchester on Friday, February 28, the Admirals auctioned off their game-worn jerseys, with all proceeds benefiting the MDA. The team donned a special blue alternate jersey for the auction, featuring "Norfolk" running diagonally down the front of the sweater. A total of 26 players' jerseys were sold for a combined sum of $30,250. Among the highest bids were those for goaltender Craig Andersson's jersey at $2,500 and forward Casey Hankinson's jersey at $2,000.
"Everyone is ecstatic over the success of this year's auction," said Todd McKeating, Director of Operations for the Norfolk Admirals. "Our staff, the MDA and the team are all thrilled at the tremendous support our fans showed for this worthy cause. Our hats are off to everyone who made this our best jersey auction yet.
Tickets for all remaining contests on the Admirals' home schedule are available at Scope's Box Office, all TicketMaster outlets, charge-by-phone at (757) 671-8100 and online at www.ticketmaster.com.
