Nichushkin Recalled by Dallas Stars

FRISCO, Texas - Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has recalled forward Valeri Nichushkin from a conditioning assignment with the Texas Stars, Dallas' top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Nichushkin, 20, appeared in three games with Texas during his latest stint with the club, recording three assists (0-33) and nine shots on goal. The forward had missed 59 NHL games from Nov. 8 - March 27 after having hip surgery. Additionally, he missed seven games from Oct. 14 - 28 with a hip injury. He has skated in four games this season for Dallas, posting zero points and two shots. He also appeared in two games for Texas on a conditioning assignment from Oct. 31 - Nov. 1 and registered an assist.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound native of Chelyabinsk, Russia was selected by Dallas in the first round (10th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.

The Texas Stars entered the 2014-15 season as the AHL's defending Calder Cup Champions.
