Kevin Raine Named Monarchs' Man of Year

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs are proud to announce that Kevin Raine has been named the team's winner of the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the Manchester community during the 2014-15 season.
Despite being in his first season with the Monarchs, Raine is already well known in the community for his kindness and charitable efforts. He's been extremely generous with his time all season long and always jumps at the chance to interact with fans.
Since the start of the year, Raine has gone to Smyth Road Elementary to read The Bulliest Dozer to first and second graders, teaching them about the dangers of bullying. After a Monarchs practice he was one of seven players that skated with the East Coast Jumbos, a team of players with developmental disabilities that competes in the American Special Hockey Association. Raine delivered pizza and Monarchs ticket vouchers to fans with Papa John's Pizza. The Dryden, ON native also met with fans, signed autographs and took pictures at The Tilted Kilt, Carrabba's Italian Grill and the Monarchs Booster Club.
Raine is now one of 30 finalists for the AHL's 2014-15 Yanick Dupre Memorial Award, honoring the overall IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year. The league award is named after the former Hershey Bears forward and AHL All-Star who died in 1997 following a 16-month battle with leukemia. The winner of the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award will be announced by the American Hockey League later this month.
