Akron RubberDucks News Release

The Aeros made a roster move today, as RHP Michael Finocchi was released and RHP Randy Newsom returned to Akron from Class AAA Columbus.

Finocchi had appeared in just five games for the Aeros and had not worked since April 30th. He was 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA in those five outings, with nine walks and three strikeouts in 5.1 innings.

Newsom did not see much action for the Clippers either, appearing in two games and allowing one run and three hits in 1.2 innings (5.40 ERA). He began this season with the Aeros and in six relief appearances went 2-0 with one save and a 1.08 ERA. Opposing Eastern League hitters were batting just .138 against him. Newsom is also the single-season and career record holder in saves for the Aeros franchise, and will once again wear #38.
