HARRISBURG, PA - Third baseman Pedro Lopez had a big offensive night and Altoona cruised on their way to a 5-0 victory over Harrisburg Monday night at Metro Bank Park.

The Curve got on the board in the top of the third inning when Lopez hit and RBI single to left-center field scoring leadoff man Brian Friday.

Brad Corley smashed his fourth home run of the season in the sixth inning. The two run blast gave the Curve a 3-0 lead.

Lopez was not done his offensive fury. The Dominican Republic native drove in two more runs on a double to right field to give Altoona plenty of breathing room at 5-0. Lopez finished the night 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.

Curve starter Jared Hughes (1-4) threw five innings and gave up only three hits, no runs, and four strikeouts to pick up his first win of the 2009 season.

Altoona (9-20) will be looking to build off tonight's win when they take on the Senators Tuesday night. RHP Mike Crotta (2-0, 4.44) will get the start for Altoona while lefty Cory Van Allen (0-2, 7.71) will get the nod for Harrisburg (6-22). First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. with radio coverage starting at 6:45 on ESPN Radio 1430, WVAM and the Curve Radio Network.
