
National Lemonade Day Winners to Sell Lemonade at Saints Game

ST. PAUL, MN (June 27, 2011) - Imagine saying "no thanks" to the neighborhood kid selling lemonade in front of their house. It's tough to do. Now envision nine hard working youngsters selling lemonade from their self-made stand at a St. Paul Saints game.not only is it tough to say no, it's nearly impossible! Saints fans will have the opportunity to "say yes" and drink lemonade until their hearts content at an upcoming home game.
On Sunday, June 5 kids from all-around the Twin Cities participated in Lemonade Day with a chance to fine tune their early entrepreneurial skills. Nine winners who were selected from the area have been awarded the opportunity appear at the Saints game on Tuesday, June 28. They will set up their stands on the boulevard sidewalk in the tailgating lot at Midway Stadium so fans can purchase the sweet cups of lemonade.
The nine winners at the Saints game were the top three finishers in the categories of best tasting lemonade, best business and best stand. They will be introduced during a ceremony on field prior to the Saints vs. Fargo Moorhead Redhawks game and will each throw out the "first lemon."
Lemonade Day is a community event created by Prepared 4 Life (P4L) and brought to the Twin Cities by The Liemandt Foundation . It transforms not only the youth who participate, but the entire community. Their ambitious goal this year is to register 5,000 youth to become the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Prepared 4 Life founded lemonade Day in 2007 in Houston, TX. This first year was a learning experience in which about 2,600 kids registered for the inaugural Lemonade Day. In 2008, about 11,000 kids registered and the contests were added. In 2009, Lemonade Day expanded to Austin Texas and Wayne County Indiana. A total of about 31,000 kids registered in 2009. In 2010, The Liemandt Foundation became the seed organization to bring Lemonade Day to the Twin Cities.
Tickets are available for all home games starting at $5 for general admission, $8 for outfield reserved and $12 for infield reserved. Friday Home Games with post-game fireworks (except July 1, August 26) are an additional $2 per ticket. July 1 and August 26 feature extended post-game fireworks and are an additional $3 per ticket. Tickets purchased on the Day of the Game are an additional $1 per ticket. Children under the age of 12 and seniors 65 and older receive $1 off the admission price. Children under 2 that don't require a seat are free.
