Alberts, Hodsdon Named American Association Players of the Week

DURHAM, NC - Pointstreak, the official statistician of the American Association, has selected Amarillo Sox OF Tim Alberts and El Paso Diablos RHP Scott Hodsdon as the Pointstreak Batter and Pitcher of the Week.

Alberts had a tremendous week for the Sox. In six games, he batted .621 with a home run, 13 RBIs and seven runs scored. The resident of Baldwinsville, NY had 18 hits in 29 at-bats along with a .645 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of .897. Last night in the 21-20 win over the Shreveport-Bossier Captains, Alberts went a perfect 6-for-6 at the plate with three runs scored and seven RBIs. The six hits tied a league record for most hits in a game. On the season, Alberts is hitting .400 (fourth best in the league) with five home runs and 39 RBIs.

Hodsdon tossed seven shutout innings in the 14-0 victory over the Grand Prairie AirHogs Saturday. He allowed only one walk and three hits and fanned four batters. The Glendora, CA resident is 1-2 on the year with a 4.15 ERA in 21 2/3 innings pitched.
