Guerrero Books Hat Trick in RailCats' Rout

LINCOLN - Cristian Guerrero clubbed three home runs to lead the Gary SouthShore RailCats to a 13-0 victory over the Saltdogs at Haymarket Park Monday night.

The division-leading RailCats have now hit eight home runs over their last two games, after totaling just six long balls the first 42 games of the season.

Brad Boyer and Mike Rohde each added long balls as well, helping to hand Lincoln its largest loss of the season, and its first shutout at home.

Carlos Rivas (1-0) pitched six innings, allowing just three hits while striking out one and walking three to earn the win in his first start since being activated from the disabled list. Tim Brown (4-5) went six frames, allowing five runs on seven hits while striking out five to suffer the loss.

Gavin Dickey hit a two-out single up the middle in the bottom of the ninth to extend his hit streak to 14 games in his final at-bat.

The Saltdogs have now been outscored 38-5 over the last three days.

The teams meet again Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. for game two of the four-game series. Brett Harker (0-0, 9.00) is scheduled to take the mound for Lincoln against Scott Shaw (4-3, 5.05) for Gary SouthShore.
