Amarillo 21, Shreveport-Bossier 20

Right fielder Tim Alberts singled to left field in the top of the 10th inning to drive in the winning run for Amarillo, and the Sox beat Shreveport-Bossier 21-20. Alberts led Amarillo with six hits, seven RBI and three runs in six at-bats, and seven different Sox batted in at least one run. Shreveport-Bossier had a 4-0 lead against Amarillo early in the game, but the Sox scored 15 runs during the sixth, seventh and eighth innings. Shreveport-Bossier third baseman Mike Provencher scored a home run in the top of the ninth to tie the score at 20 and take the game into extra innings. Provencher had three hits, two RBI and three runs in six at-bats, and right fielder Bryan Sabatella led the Captains with four hits, two runs and seven RBI in five at-bats. Chad Povich earned his third win of the season, allowing three hits, one run and striking out four in 3.1 innings pitched.

Grand Prairie 14, El Paso 7

Despite committing four errors, Grand Prairie registered 12 hits and cruised to a 14-7 win against El Paso. Grand Prairie scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the second to take a 2-0 lead, and then added three more in the third. El Paso knocked in three runs of its own off a pair of doubles in the fourth inning to close the gap, but the AirHogs refused to let up. Grand Prairie scored at least one run in every inning but the first on its way to victory, and four different AirHogs registered multiple RBI. Second baseman David Espinosa led Grand Prairie with three hits and three RBI in five at-bats, and designated hitter Kyle Nichols chipped in four hits, two RBI and one run for El Paso. Joe Fulton earned his second win of the season, allowing three hits and one run in two innings pitched.
