Friday, February 7, 2003 vs. Norfolk Admirals

Time: 7:30 p.m. at Van Andel Arena (doors open at 6:30 p.m.)

NASCAR Night: Fans can meet NASCAR legend Ned Jarrett at a pre-game autograph session (6:30-7:30 p.m.) and see a replica of Dale Earnhardt's #3 car in the arena lobby. They can also play a tire changing game on the concourse, and a few will be selected to participate in an on-ice go-kart race during the first intermission. Auto racing prizes will be given away throughout the night.

Jersey Auction: The Griffins will wear special racing-themed jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Bauer Christian Reformed Church.

SUV Giveaway: Fans can register throughout the game on the concourse for a chance to win a two-year lease on a new 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport from Fox Mitsubishi. Three lucky fans will go on the ice and try to select the key that will start the vehicle.

Red Wings Alumni: The Detroit Red Wings Alumni team will take on the Grand Rapids All-Stars at 3:45 p.m., presented by Meijer. A ticket to that night's Griffins game is required for admission. In the past, the Detroit Red Wings Alumni team has featured such names as Ted Lindsay, Alex Delvecchio, Eddie Mio, Dino Ciccarelli and John Ogrodnick. The Grand Rapids All-Star team is composed of amateur players from West Michigan. The Detroit Red Wings Alumni will conduct an autograph session prior to the Griffins game. Giveaway: Bottle jerseys (insulated bottle coolers shaped like a Griffins jersey) will be given to the first 1,500 fans, courtesy of Northwood University.

Intermission: An Intermission Shootout presented by Herman Miller will feature the Holland Freeze Youth Hockey team.

Throw for Dough: During the game, fans can purchase red balls for $1 and green balls for $3 apiece. At the conclusion of the game, a target will be placed at center ice. Fans can throw the balls at the target for a chance to win up to $5,000. Proceeds from the sale of the balls will go to the Union High School wrestling team.

B-I-N-G-O: All fans can play Classic Rock Bingo, presented by WLAV. As they enter the arena, fans will be given bingo cards containing titles of classic rock songs, and they'll cross off the names of the songs as they are played during the game. When a fan gets five songs in a row on the card, it may be redeemed at the WLAV table on the concourse for a chance to win prizes.
