Flames' Martin added to All-Star roster

SPRINGFIELD, MA ... American Hockey League President and CEO David Andrews announced today that Saint John Flames defenseman Mike Martin has been added to the Canadian AHL All-Star roster for this week's 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic. Martin replaces Saint John teammate Micki DuPont, who remains on recall to the National Hockey League's Calgary Flames.

Martin, 26, is in his third season with the Flames, and has recorded one goal and 10 assists in 34 games this season. A member of Saint John's 2001 Calder Cup championship team, the native of Stratford, Ont., has 67 points in 229 career AHL contests.

The 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic will take place at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine, home of the AHL's Portland Pirates. The event gets underway on Sunday, February 2, with the 2003 Pepsi AHL All-Star Skills Competition at 8:00 p.m. ET, and concludes with the annual All-Star Game at 7:00 p.m. ET on Monday, February 3. The 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic will be televised to 60 million households on 15 regional television partners in the United States and on Rogers Sportsnet nationally in Canada.
