January 29, 2003 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Cincinnati RailRaiders News Release
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Brendan Yarema and Ben Guite scored goals just 16 seconds apart late in the first period to lift the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks to a 4-2 win over the Cleveland Barons Wednesday at Gund Arena.
Peter Podhradsky and Cory Pecker also scored for the Ducks, who snapped a two-game losing streak and won for just the second time in their last seven games (2-4-1-0). Nick Smith chipped in with a pair of assists.
Ilja Bryzgalov posted 28 saves for Cincinnati, which also halted a six-game road slide and won for the fourth time in six tries this season against Cleveland. Bryzgalov, a second-round pick by Anaheim in 2000, has earned victories in two of his last three starts with a 1.64 goals-against average and .938 save percentage in that stretch.
Pat Rissmiller and Rob Davison scored for the Barons, who fell to 2-14-1-1 in their last 18 games.
Vesa Toskala, a San Jose prospect, surrendered four goals on 33 shots in the loss.
The Ducks host Milwaukee Saturday at 7:35 p.m. at Cincinnati Gardens in their final game prior to the AHL All-Star Break.
