
Nailers and WesBanco Arena Sign Three Year Lease

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers announced today that in cooperation with the City of Wheeling, and WesBanco Arena, they have agreed to a three (3) year arena lease beginning June 1, 2005 and continuing until May 31, 2008.
Specific details of the lease agreement remain private between the Nailers and WesBanco Arena officials as in past agreements.
"We are excited to be able to announce the fact that we are committed to another three years with WesBanco Arena and the city of Wheeling," Rob Brooks, president of the Wheeling Nailers stated. "It (the agreement) took a little longer than we anticipated completing; however we wanted to be sure that a longer term was negotiated with city officials and WesBanco Arena officials," Brooks concluded.
"It's exciting to be able to continue this relationship with the Wheeling Nailers," commented Robert Herron, City Manager for the city of Wheeling. "The Nailers affiliation with the ECHL and the Pittsburgh Penguins continues to showcase Wheeling and the Ohio Valley to visitors from all over the tri-state area and the 28 other cities represented in the ECHL," Herron concluded.
The Wheeling Nailers play 36 home games each season in WesBanco Arena not counting pre-season and post season contests which represent significant revenues for area restaurants, parking facilities and the like surround the downtown region of Wheeling, WV.
The ECHL is comprised of 28 teams located throughout North America since its expansion in 2003. This expansion provides the ECHL with a national presence, strengthening the ECHL's position as the largest developmental league in professional hockey representing cities such as Anchorage, AK, Victoria, BC, and San Diego, CA.
