Greenville Grrrowl News Release
GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Grrrowl of the ECHL, proud affiliates of the Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers, have announced that forward KRYS BARCH has been signed by the Norfolk Admirals to a professional tryout. This will be Barch's second trip to Norfolk this season.
Barch played two games with the Admirals on February 9th and 12th, recording five shots, two PIMs, and a +1 rating. A fourth round selection of the Washington Capitals in 1998, Barch spent training camp with Norfolk this past pre-season. In 55 games with Greenville, Barch has 30 points on 11 goals and 19 assists. The alternate captain is third on the team in penalty minutes with 154, and he leads the Grrrowl with 18 major penalties. A native of Guelph, Ontario, Barch spent parts of four seasons with the Portland Pirates, and has played in 149 AHL games throughout his career.
The Grrrowl have also announced that they will begin a FAN APPRECIATION MERCHANDISE SALE this weekend, with discounts on t-shirts, sweatshirts, fleece jackets and watches. Discounts are available while supplies last, and the sale will run through the remaining regular season games and into the playoffs. Visit the Fan Wear Booth located outside of section 117 for full details.
The Grrrowl have two home games this weekend, hosting Charlotte on Friday and Florida on Saturday. TOP DOG members can get two free tickets to Friday's game by showing their TOP DOG Identification Card at the Box Office window prior to the game. TOP DOG members may bring two guests for every account they have with the Grrrowl this season. All attempts will be made to seat the guests as close as possible to the TOP DOG member's primary seats.
Be sure to stick around after Friday's game for a chance to be on National Television, as Varuna Entertainment sponsors a post-game BIG WHEEL ICE DERBY. The event will benefit Habitat for Humanity, with all proceeds going to a local affiliate. The derby will be recorded for rebroadcast on CMT (Country Music Television) later this year.
For tickets to any of Greenville's four remaining regular season games, call Ticketmaster at 864-233-2525. For playoff ticket information, call the Grrrowl offices at 864-467-4777.
