Moreland Named ECHL Saver of the Month

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons, in conjunction with the ECHL, announced today that Jake Moreland has been named the RBC Financial Group ECHL Saver of the Month for January.

Moreland went 7-1-1 with a shutout, a 2.08 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage in January, helping the Falcons to a 9-2-1 record during the month.

The 28-year-old began the month with three consecutive overtime wins at Las Vegas, and recorded his first shutout of the season on January 13 in a 6-0 win over Phoenix. He was named ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending January 13 after going 3-0-0.

Since joining the Falcons on November 30, Moreland has a 13-4-3 record with a 2.63 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage.

Moreland is featured on the cover of the February issue of Fresno Magazine and will be appearing at the magazine's release party tomorrow at Fahrenheit 5104, located at 5104 N. West Avenue, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The Falcons are in action tonight, hosting the Utah Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Two-for-Tuesday, presented by Carl's Jr., KMPH Fox 26, and KRZR 103.7 FM. Fans can visit any area Carl's Jr. and pick up a voucher allowing them to purchase one ticket at regular price and get a second ticket for free. It's also the second-annual Melt the Ice Bikini Contest, presented by Advanced Laser Clinic of Fresno, during the first intermission.
