Johnstown Chiefs News Release
Johnstown, PA - For the fourth edition of "The Pow-Wow" on Thursday, February 7 host, and voice of the Chiefs, Ray Schmitt will be joined by guests Randy Rowe and Ryan Garlock.
Chiefs' fans of all ages can see the show live from the Lower Works of the Johnstown Brewing Company Restaurant and Pub at 7:30 p.m. For those who miss the live show, a recording of "The Pow-Wow" will be available at www.johnstownchiefs.com.
In his third season in Johnstown, Rowe is providing leadership on the scoresheet and in the dressing room. Serving as the team captain, Rowe leads all Chiefs in points with 37 and assists with 21. In the month of February the Burford, Ontario native has recorded at least one point in three games (2G, 2A).
A second-year professional, Garlock is having a banner year. After a full season with San Antonio (AHL) as a rookie, Garlock is averaging nearly a point per game (17G, 17A) through 37 contests. A second-round draft pick by Chicago in 2004 (45 overall), Garlock was rewarded for his play with a trip to Stockton in January to represent Johnstown at the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game.
After the show is over, fans are invited to stay for an informal meet-and-greet with the players who will be available for pictures and/or autographs. Throughout the night the Johnstown Brewing Company will be offering their full menu, including their weekly Thursday special, BBQ Night.
The Chiefs' next home game is on February 8 when Elmira comes to town. The game will feature a Chiefs Stadium Cup giveaway, sponsored by Waste Management, to the first 1,000 fans. If you can't make that game, be sure to come out for Bingo Night at 5:05 p.m. on February 10. Each fan will get a Bingo card upon entrance, and numbers will be drawn at random throughout the night. Great seats are still available at the UPMC Health Plan Ice Rink for both games. Call 536-5156 or go to www.johnstownchiefs.com to get yours today!
