PENSACOLA, FLA. (Feb. 5, 2008) - The Columbia Inferno (18-18-4-6, 46 points) snapped a three-game slide as they beat the Pensacola Ice Pilots (11-30-2-3, 27 points) 3-2 on a late overtime goal on Tuesday night.

Mac Faulkner gave the Inferno a 1-0 lead six minutes into the first period when his seventh goal of the year beat Ice Pilots goalie Mike Brodeur. Captain Brad Ralph earned the assist on Faulkner's first goal since returning from a lengthy stay on the IR.

Ice Pilots defenseman Jean-Claude Sawyer tied the game 1-1 at 13:46 when his fourth goal of the year found daylight past Inferno goalie Todd Ford. Michael Cohen and Bryan Esner notched the assists.

The Ice Pilots took a 2-1 lead midway through the second period when Esner scored his 16th goal of the year, beating Ford with help from Sawyer and Mathieu Roy. Ralph tied the game 2-2 with about two minutes left in the third period when he sent an Owen Fussey pass past Brodeur and into the back of the net. Daniel Sparre also assisted on Ralph's 15th goal of the year.

The game appeared to be heading through overtime and toward a shootout, until defenseman Reid Cashman smacked his second of the year past Brodeur with just two seconds left in overtime to give the Inferno a 3-2 win.
