Fresno Falcons News Release
Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons, in conjunction with the ECHL, announced today that veteran left wing Luke Curtin has been named In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for the week ending February 3.
Curtin scored five goals and added two assists for seven points as the Falcons went 2-0-1 in three games last week. The 30-year-old scored one goal in each of Fresno's first two games last week; a 4-2 win over Phoenix on Tuesday and a 4-3 shootout loss at Las Vegas on Friday. He concluded his week with a five-point effort, including his first hat trick of the season, in a 6-2 win against Las Vegas on Saturday.
Entering tonight's game against Utah, Curtin is on a five-game point streak over which he has posted 13 points (6g, 7a). Curtin is seventh in ECHL history with 366 assists, and ranks 13th in league history with 556 points.
On behalf of Luke Curtin, a case of pucks will be donated to a Fresno area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, In Glas Co has donated more than 18,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
The Falcons are in action tonight, hosting the Utah Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Two-for-Tuesday, presented by Carl's Jr., KMPH Fox 26, and KRZR 103.7 FM. Fans can visit any area Carl's Jr. and pick up a voucher allowing them to purchase one ticket at regular price and get a second ticket for free. It's also the second-annual Melt the Ice Bikini Contest, presented by Advanced Laser Clinic of Fresno, during the first intermission.
Tickets for all Falcons home games can be purchased at the Save Mart Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster at (559) 485-8497 or www.ticketmaster.com. All Falcons' games are broadcast on 790 ESPN Radio, The Deuce, starting 15 minutes prior to face-off with the Port of Subs Pre-Game Show.
