
Steelheads Swap with Cincinnati

BOISE, Idaho¾The Idaho Steelheads announced that the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL) have reassigned forward Andrew R. Martin from Cincinnati to Idaho and defenseman T.J. McElroy has been traded to the Cyclones in exchange for future considerations.
The Idaho Steelheads are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars and American Hockey League's (AHL) Iowa Stars. The Cincinnati Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the Predators and the Montreal Canadiens of the NHL and the Milwaukee Admirals and the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL.
Martin, 25, is a 5-11, 195-pound left wing playing his second pro season. With Cincinnati this season, he's tallied 5 goals and 17 assists in 41 games played. In 32 games with the Toledo Storm of the ECHL in 2006-07, the Brampton, ON native tallied 33 points (11g-22a). Prior to turning pro, Martin spent four seasons with UMass-Lowell accumulating 100 points (39g-61a) in 126 games.
The 25-year-old McElroy had two points (1g-1a) in 16 games for Idaho and 13 points (2g-11a) in 17 games with South Carolina. Idaho acquired McElroy from South Carolina on Dec. 12 in exchange for defenseman Mike Gabinet.

2/4/08 - Defenseman Ethan Graham has been recalled to the Iowa Stars of the AHL;
2/3/08 - Defenseman Darrell Hay was returned to Idaho following a call up by Grand Rapids of the AHL (2/3/08);
2/1/08 - Defenseman Craig Cescon was activated off the Injured Reserve and Kory Scoran was placed on the 7-day IR.
The Steelheads travel to Alaska this week for a three-game series Feb. 8, 9 and 10.
