Montz leads Sens to 4-1 win over New Hampshire

The Harrisburg Senators continued their successful road trip to the northeast with a 4-1 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. The win is the fourth in five games on the trip for the Sens. Harrisburg is now 62-65 and is within three games of .500 for the first time since they were 2-5.

Jeff Mandel started and picked up his fourth win of the season for the Senators. He pitched five innings and allowed three hits and a run.

The Sens scored a run in the third, then in the fourth Luke Montz unloaded a two-run home run to deep left center field giving the Sens a 3-0 lead. New Hampshire scored their only run in the fourth to cut the Sens lead to 3-1. Jemel Spearman singled in Freddie Bynum with the Sens final run in the 7th inning giving the Sens their final winning margin.

Jesse Estrada made his debut for the Sens after being promoted from Potomac pitching three scoreless innings and Carlos Martinez earned his second save with a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Mandel, Estrada and Martinez combined to retire 16 of the final 17 batters for the Fisher Cats.

Spearman and Chris Marrero both had two hits for the Sens.

The Sens road trip continues on Wednesday night with LH Justin Jones making the spot start against RH Sean Smith for New Hampshire. Game time on Wednesday is 7:05pm.
