Cleveland Monsters News Release
ROCKFORD, IL- For the second straight night, the Lake Erie Monsters (17-15-0-3) were downed by the Rockford IceHogs (18-17-3-2), as Rockford shot out to a 3-0 lead and eventually won by a 6-1 score Saturday night. Andrew Agozzino scored the lone goal for the Monsters, while Mike Sgarbossa and Matt Hunwick had assists. The Monsters conclude their stretch of three games in three nights Sunday in Milwaukee.
Rockford scored the first period's only goal at the 10:15 mark. They made the score 1-0 when Brandon Mashinter tipped a Brett Skinner point shot past Sami Aittokallio, and held their one-goal lead into the first intermission.
Jeremy Morin's shot from the right point found the back of the Monsters net at 9:05 of the second period, giving Rockford a 2-0 lead. Brett Skinner's shot from the center of the blue line gave Rockford a 3-0 lead at 13:49 of the second period, before the Monsters put a puck past Jason LaBarbera.
