Syracuse Crunch News Release

Syracuse, NY - Kristers Gudlevskis and the Syracuse Crunch shut out the Providence Bruins 1-0 tonight at the War Memorial Arena.

Crunch goaltender Gudlevskis stopped all 27 shots in victory, giving him his second consecutive shutout. Bruins goaltender David LeNeveu allowed one goal on 21 shots in defeat. Syracuse was unable to convert on one man-advantage opportunity. The Syracuse penalty kill unit was perfect in stopping all three Providence power-play opportunities.

The shutout advances the Crunch to 16-14-2-4 on the season and 1-0-0-1 in the series with the Bruins.

The Crunch opened up scoring just 42 seconds into the first period and carried the 1-0 lead through the end of the game. After driving the net, Cedric Paquette beat LeNeveu to score his eleventh goal of the season. Dana Tyrell and Dmitry Korobov both picked up a point assisting on the goal.

The Crunch will face the Hershey Bears at the War Memorial Arena this Friday at 7 p.m.
