IceCaps Down Marlies 5-4 in Shootout

The St. John's IceCaps, AHL affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets, defeated the Toronto Marlies by a score of 5-4 in a shootout tonight at Mile One Centre in Newfoundland.

Toronto opened the scoring just 23 seconds into the game on Wade MacLeod's 4th goal of the season. St. John's would take a 2-1 lead before the end of the frame on two goals from Adam Lowry. Patrice Cormier notched the lone goal of the second period just 44 seconds into the frame. Peter Holland's 7th goal of the year brought the Marlies back to within one before Carl Klingberg made it 4-2 for St. John's. T.J. Brennan and Peter Holland scored goals just over one minute apart to tie the game at four. After a scoreless overtime period, Kael Mouillerat notched the game winning goal in the shootout.

The Marlies return to the ice on Wednesday night when they travel to Des Moines for a 7:05 p.m. (CST) game against the Iowa Wild, AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild. For all Toronto Marlies ticket inquiries, please contact the team's ticket line at 416-597-PUCK (7825).
