Monofilament Clear Choice For Monarchs Fans

December 10, 2003 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manchester Monarchs News Release

MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Monarchs, the AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, recently polled their fans to see whether they preferred the new clear monofilament nets installed for the 2003-04 season, or the black netting used last season. Season Ticket Holders with seats behind the netting in both Gold and Silver Level seating were asked to fill out a safety net feedback form in October. The results of the survey showed that seven out of every 10 respondents preferred the new clear monofilament netting to the black netting.

"The feedback form gave our fans an opportunity to voice their opinion," said Monarchs President Jeff Eisenberg. "Our goal all along was to listen to our fans and go with the netting they preferred."

The American Hockey League, following the lead of the National Hockey League, mandated the use of safety netting in all league arenas prior to the 2002-03 season.

The Monarchs take on the Utah Grizzles for the first time in franchise history on Friday, December 12 at 7:35 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena. The Monarchs will hold their Third Annual Teddy Bear Toss during the game. Fans are encouraged to take stuffed animals to the game and throw them onto the ice during the second intermission. The stuffed animals will then be collected and donated to Child Health Services and Easter Seals. The Monarchs are also scheduled to travel to Bridgeport to take on the Sound Tigers on Saturday, December 13 at 7:05 p.m.

Monarchs Ticket Availability as of December 10

Fri., Dec. 12 vs. Utah: Gold Level: Single seats. Silver Level: 2,100 seats.
