The Chicago Wolves have signed right wing Jim Campbell.

Campbell, who was claimed on waivers from the Portland Pirates, began the season in Russia (statistics unavailable).

The 30-year-old forward has played parts of eight seasons in the NHL, and was named to the NHL All-Rookie team after notching NHL career-highs with 23 goals and 43 points in 68 games with the St. Louis Blues in 1996-97. Overall, Campbell notched 61 goals; 75 assists; 136 points; and 266 penalty minutes in 284 career NHL games with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (1995-96); St. Louis Blues (1996-2000); Montreal Canadiens (2000-01); Chicago Blackhawks (2001-02); and Florida Panthers (2002-03).

Montreal's second pick, 28th overall, in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft has registered eight goals, three assists and 11 points in 14 NHL postseason games, which includes NHL career-bests with seven goals, three assists and 10 points in 10 games with the St. Louis Blues in 1997-98.

Last season, the Worcester, Mass., native led the San Antonio Rampage with a career-high 37 assists and ranked third on the club with 53 points in 64 games. His 11 power-play goals ranked second on the team.

Overall, the 6-foot-2-inch, 205-pound forward has amassed 137 goals; 156 assists; and 293 points; and 316 penalty minutes in 333 American Hockey League games with the Fredericton Canadiens (1993-1996); Baltimore Bandits (1995-96); Worcester IceCats (1999-2000); Quebec Citadelles (2000-01); Norfolk Admirals (2001-02); and Rampage (2002-03). Campbell helped Fredericton reach the Calder Cup Finals with seven assists in 12 games in 1994-95.

Campbell was a member of the 1994 United States Olympic team.
