CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Cincinnati Mighty Ducks right wing Alexei Smirnov will miss four to six weeks with a right shoulder sprain.

Smirnov was injured December 6 at Utah and was not in the lineup the following night against the Grizzlies.

A first-round pick by Anaheim in 2000, Smirnov has five goals and five assists with 12 penalty minutes in 15 games with Cincinnati this season. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder has also appeared in eight games with Anaheim this season, recording one assist with two penalty minutes.

The Ducks have been without center Joel Perrault since he suffered a knee injury November 15. Perrault, who has three goals and five assists with two penalty minutes in 14 games, is expected to return to the lineup this weekend.

Cincinnati also recalled defenseman Andy Reierson from ECHL San Diego.
