Monast Reassigned to Texas from Idaho

Cedar Park, TX - The Texas Stars announced on Monday that defenseman Guillaume Monast has been reassigned to the Texas Stars (AHL) from the Idaho Steelheads (ECHL) by the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Guillaume Monast (pronounced Gee-yohm, Moe-Nah) has one assist in nine games for Texas over three separate recalls from Idaho. He registered his first AHL point with the Stars this season at Lake Erie on Feb. 16. In 48 games for Idaho this year, Monast has one goal and seven assists while adding 38 penalty minutes. The Quebec native spent his rookie season with Idaho, setting up six goals in 68 games played, helping the Steelheads reach the 2010 Kelly Cup Finals. Monast attended training camp in Dallas and in Texas each of the last two years.

Texas returns home to face the Houston Aeros on Tuesday, March 22nd at 7:30 PM. Fans may bring in any H-E-B store branded non-perishable food product to the game to receive $5 off your ticket price. Tuesday is also a 3-2-1 night. Fans can purchase $3 domestic 12 oz drafts, $2 regular sodas and $1 hot dogs. The Stars will also host Grand Rapids this weekend at Cedar Park Center. Friday night's faceoff is set for 7:30 PM and it is also a 3-2-1 Night. The Stars and Griffins will meet again on Saturday night at 7:00 PM. The first 2,500 fans will receive a Texas Stars Oven Mitt, compliments of Chick-Fil-A. Saturday night is also a State Farm Family Four Pack night. Fans may purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for $44.
