Canadiens Recall Engqvist from Hamilton; Assign Palushaj to Bulldogs

MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens announced today that centre Andreas Engqvist has been recalled from Hamilton to Montreal, while right wing Aaron Palushaj has been assigned to the Bulldogs.

Engqvist, 23, played in two games with the Canadiens earlier in the season but was held pointless. In 62 games with the Bulldogs in 2010-2011, the 6-foot-4, 197-pound centre has registered 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) and 16 penalty minutes. He has collected 122 shots on goal and maintained a +8 rating. The native of Stockholm, Sweden was signed as a free agent by Montreal on July 13, 2009.

Palushaj, 21, ranks third on the 'Dogs in points with 44 (17 goals, 27 assists) in 57 games this season. The 5-foot-11, 177-pound right winger is tied for first on the Bulldogs with a +15 rating while recording 134 shots and 30 penalty minutes. Palushaj played his first three NHL games with Montreal but was held pointless after being recalled on March 16th. The native of Northville, Michigan was drafted in the 2nd round, 44th overall by the St. Louis Blues at the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Palushaj was acquired from the Blues on March 2, 2010, in return for Matt D'Agostini.

The Bulldogs return to action on Friday, March 25th when they travel to Rockford to battle the IceHogs for an 8:05 p.m. game. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
