Monarchs Loan Roach to Reign

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have loaned defenseman Alex Roach to the ECHL's Ontario Reign, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Roach, 20, collected 49 points (15-3449) and 72 penalty minutes in 62 games with the Western Hockey League's Calgary Hitmen during the 2012-13 season. His 34 assists finished fourth on the Hitmen and his 49 points were tied for fourth. The 6-foot-4, 227-pound defenseman from Quesnel, British Columbia played in 184 games with Calgary from 2010-13 and recorded 23 goals and 60 assists for 83 points, and 227 penalty minutes. Roach signed a three-year entry level contract with the Kings on September 26, 2011.
