Manchester Monarchs News Release
HEAD-TO-HEAD - The Monarchs and Jackals square off for the ninth time this season, with the Monarchs holding a 5-2-0-1 record against Elmira. The last time these two teams played, the Monarchs came out victorious, 3-2, February 21 at the Jungle. The Monarchs find themselves looking up at the Toledo Walleye who currently lead the Eastern Conference with 83 points.
SCORE FIRST - The Monarchs hold a 23-5-1-3 record when lighting the lamp first this season, grabbing 50 of a possible 64 points in those games, which calculates to a 0.781 % point percentage. GET A LEAD, GET A WIN - The Monarchs will look to take a lead heading into the third period tonight, as they boast a 23-0-1-3 record when leading after two periods this season. Elmira has had a tough time coming back in the final frame, going 2-23-2-0 when facing a third period deficit.
HOME VS ROAD - The Monarchs have held their ground at home all season, going 17-9-3-4 when playing at the Jungle. Elmira comes in as road warriors, earning a 19-9-2-1 record away from First Arena compared to a 13-16-1-0 record on home ice.

CURIOUS GOALTENDING - Elmira netminder, C.J. Motte, is all over the goaltending leaderboard on both ends of the spectrum. Motte ranks second in the ECHL in saves (1052) and shootout wins (4), but is also tied for the most loses by a goaltender in the league with 20.
FIRST ONE OUT OF THE WAY - Alex Lintuniemi scored the first goal of his professional career last night against Reading at 6:53 of the second period on Adam Morrison. The goal for the native of Helsinki, Finland came in his 28th professional game. Lintuniemi now has 13 points this season on one goal and 12 assists.
