(Toledo, OH) Evan Rankin scored twice but Toledo saw its Walleye record 13 game home winning streak snapped by Kalamazoo 4-3 Sunday at the Huntington Center. Toledo has an overall record of 39-16-2-3 and 23-6-0-1 at home.

Evan Rankin (11th) started the scoring for the Walleye just 4:02 into the first period with a turnaround wrist shot. Kalamazoo tied the game late in the first period and then they took the lead with a goal 9:02 into the second period.

Shane Berschbach sent a shot that Kalamazoo net minder Clay Witt stopped but Evan Rankin was there for the rebound to tie the game at two. The Wings regained the advantage by scoring a goal just 1:46 into the third period, followed by another tally at 4:24 for a 4-2 lead.

Tyler Sikura (13th) took a pass from Josh Shalla and buried a one-timer from the side of the net to pull the Walleye to within a goal at 7:43 of the third period. Toledo out shot Kalamazoo 14-7 in the third period but couldn't send the game to overtime.

Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jake Paterson finished the game with 25 saves on the 29 shots he faced and his record is 14-9-1-1 on the season. The loss snapped Paterson's seven game winning streak that tied a Walleye record. The Walleye penalty kill has not allowed a power play goal against in 32 straight shorthanded opportunities over twelve straight games, which is a Walleye record. Toledo had not lost a game at home since January 23, 2016, 5-3 to Utah.
