Manchester Monarchs News Release

HEAD-TO-HEAD - The Monarchs and Thunder renew their rivalry tonight, when they play each other for the twelfth time this season. Entering tonight, the Monarchs carry a 6-5-0-0 record against Adirondack, with four of the team's six wins coming on home ice.

WHERE WE STAND - The Monarchs (79 points) maintain their seven point division lead over the Adirondack Thunder in the East, and are tied with the Toledo Walleye for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Adirondack currently sits fifth in the conference (72 points), one point back of South Carolina (73 points) and seven points clear of Atlanta (65 points), who sit in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

LIGHT THE LAMP - Scoring first has been important to the Monarchs success this season. Manchester holds a 23-4-0-3 record when being the first team to light the lamp, an .817 winning percentage, fourth highest in the ECHL. The Monarchs are 12-2-0-2 in such instances from the friendly confines of the Verizon Wireless Arena. Adirondack holds a 26-7-2-2 record when scoring first, a .757 winning percentage, 14th in the ECHL.

DIAMOND(S) ARE EVERYONE'S BEST FRIEND - Monarchs forward Joey Diamond has been on a tear as of late. The 26 year old forward has points in seven of his last nine games, including a four-goal performance on February 27 at Norfolk. The Monarchs leading scorer has 11 points in his last nine games on seven goals and four assists.

RIDING THE LIGHTNING - Manchester has won their previous four contests against the Thunder with all four of those games being decided by one-goal. The Monarchs power-play struggled to find their rhythm in those games, going a combined 1-for-13 on the man advantage, while Adirondack was 2-for-17 on the man-advantage
