Beast Add Princeton Grad Rankin Ahead of Tuesday Game against Wheeling

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO - The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the St. John's IceCaps and Montreal Canadiens, announce today that the club has signed Princeton grad Kyle Rankin to a Standard Player Contract.

Rankin, a Kanata, Ontario native, played four full seasons for Princeton University between the 2012-13 and 2015-16 seasons and was a speedy, reliable forward who suited up for 117 NCAA games and recorded 10 goals and 21 assists along with 44 penalty minutes.

Prior to starting his NCAA career, he had a great season with the Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL, putting up 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points during the 2011-12 season.

Rankin is expected to be in the lineup this evening as the Beast are in Wheeling to take on the Nailers at WesBanco Arena at 7:05 PM. The Beast return home to the Powerade Centre on Thursday, March 10 to host the Toronto Maple Leafs' ECHL affiliate, the Orlando Solar Bears, for the first of three games.
