Center Mark Cullen gave the Admirals a 3-1 lead just 38-seconds into the third period as he stood on the doorstep of Monarchs goaltender Barry Brust and snuck it past him. Barett and Corazzini assisted on the go-ahead goal and eventual game winner.
Monarchs' right wing Konstantin Pushkarev was awarded a penalty shot at 14:26 of the third period but Admirals goaltender Adam Munro denied him the chance to tie the game.
