AHL American Hockey League

Manitoba wins over San Antonio

November 5, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL) News Release

The Rampage closed their seven-game home stand with their fifth straight loss as the Manitoba Moose defeated San Antonio 5-1 Saturday night at the SBC Center. Rampage center Jamie Lundmark, who is on a conditioning assignment from the Phoenix Coyotes, scored the team's lone goal for his first of the season.

Four of the five Manitoba goals were scored on the power-play. Manitoba defenseman Sven Butenschon scored two power-play goals, including the second of two in the opening period to give the Moose a 2-0 lead.

The Rampage battled in the second period matching Manitoba's seven shots. Manitoba would score two of their three goals to settle to a 4-0 lead before Lundmark fought past two players to get the unassisted short-handed goal with 2:02 left in the period.

Butenschon answered back for Manitoba with his second power-play goal less than a minute later.

The Rampage (4-9-0-0) have six days off before facing the Houston Aeros at the Toyota Center on Nov. 12. Both teams will then return to San Antonio on Sunday for another Texas AHL showdown at 5 p.m. at the SBC Center.
