Aulin leads Bears to 3-2 shootout win

Jared Aulin scored the game-tying goal late in the third period as the BEARS won 3-2 over Springfield Saturday night at GIANT Center.

Joey Tenute gave the BEARS a 1-0 lead at the 12:59 mark of the first period, but Springfield scored twice to take a 2-1 lead. HERSHEY trailed until the 17:33 mark of the third period when Aulin scored his second goal of the season. The game went to a shootout where the BEARS fell behind 2-0 before rallying for three straight goals to win. Aulin scored the final goal in the shootout to seal the win.

Goaltender Kirk Daubenspeck won his second game in three decisions, while rookie Jonathan Boutin made 50 saves in defeat. The BEARS are now 7-3-0-3, good for second place in the East Division.

HERSHEY begins a three-game road trip Friday at Albany. Face-off is at 7:05 p.m.
