Janssen Recalled to New Jersey; Pihlman Returned

Albany N.Y. - The Albany River Rats announced today that right wing Cam Janssen has recalled by the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League. The team also announced that left wing Tuomas Pihlman has been returned on loan from New Jersey.

Janssen, 21, recorded one goal and two assists with 19 penalty minutes and a plus one rating in nine games for the River Rats this season. The native of St. Louis Missouri led the River Rats and all American Hockey League rookies with 337 penalty minutes during the 2004-05 campaign. He will be looking to make his NHL debut after being drafted by the Devils with their sixth choice (117th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

Pihlman, 22, went scoreless with a minus one rating in one game for New Jersey so far this season. He has now played in three NHL games over his career since the beginning of the 2003-04 campaign. The Espoo, Finland native shows five (2-3) points in six games with the River Rats this season.

The Albany River Rats, owned and operated by Capital District Sports Inc., are in their 13th American Hockey League campaign and serve as the National Hockey League affiliate of the New Jersey Devils.
