Monarchs Assign Goalie To Reign

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings, announced that the Manchester Monarchs have assigned goaltender Martin Jones to the Reign.

Jones, 20, went played the last four years with the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL where he earned 109 wins vs. only 28 losses, a 2.24 GAA and a .912 SV%. In the 2009-10 season, the Vancouver native led the WHL with a 2.21 GAA, was named a First Team All-Star, and was honored as WHL Goaltender of the Year. The skilled netminder backstopped the Hitmen to the 2009-10 WHL Championship and won a silver medal with Team Canada at the 2010 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.

The Reign will play its second and final pre-season game this Saturday at Citizens Business Bank Arena at 6:00 PM against the Stockton Thunder. Tickets are still available and will be $10 at the door.

The Reign begins the 2010-11 regular season, presented by San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino, on Saturday, October 23, 2010 against the Stockton Thunder at 7:00 PM.
