Gannon, Carpentier, Brad Snetsinger Join Grizzlies

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley today announced that captain Jake Gannon and forwards Hugo Carpentier and Brad Snetsinger have joined the team from the training camp of the Abbotsford Heat.

Utah and Abbotsford are the minor league affiliates for the Calgary Flames.

Gannon, who re-signed with Utah and was named captain in August, enters his second year with the Grizzlies after splitting last season between the Grizzlies and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Carpentier, split last season between Utah and Abbotsford and is in his third year of a three-year contract with Calgary. He is a 2006 fourth-round draft pick of the Flames.

Snetsinger joins his brother Ed and Tim and Paul Crowder as the second brother combination currently on the Grizzlies roster. He spent all of last season with the Lowell Devils of the AHL totaling five goals and 13 assists for 18 points in 57 games. With Trenton of the ECHL in 2008-2009, the Ontario native had 49 points (21 goals, 28 assists) in 49 games. He enters his third year professionally.

Utah's preseason opener is tonight in Boise against Idaho. The Grizzlies return to Utah Saturday to play the Steelheads in Logan at the Eccles Ice Center at 7:30 p.m. Training camp continues all week at the Acord Center. Visit www.utahgrizzlies.com for more information.

The Grizzlies open the 2010-2011 season Friday, October 15 in Alaska with the home opener being Friday, October 22 when Utah welcomes Bakersfield to Maverik Center for a 7:05 p.m. start.
