
Wranglers Fall to Bakersfield, 5-2

Las Vegas, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers(r) were defeated by the Bakersfield Condors 5-2 to kick off their 2010-11 preseason at the Orleans Arena on Thursday October 7th. JD Corbin netted two goals and one assist in the win for Bakersfield. Las Vegas native Adam Naglich added a goal and two assists and Peter Hirsch made 27 saves on 29 shots for the win. Blair Riley and Barry Goers scored goals for the Wranglers. Scott Darling earned the loss for the Wranglers, making five saves on eight shots in 29:46 of play. Michael Ouzas stopped 13 of 15 shots in 30:14 of ice time.
After a scoreless first period, Bakersfield erupted for three tallies in the second. Naglich scored a goal on a breakaway with the loan assist going to goaltender Peter Hirsch at 7:31. Corbin got his first goal of the game at 10:14 with Naglich and Mike Suoraniemi getting the assists. Corbin scored his second goal of the night on a breakaway when he got around Wrangler defenseman Aaron Power and scored a shorthanded goal at 19:23 to give them a 3-0 lead at the end of the second period.
The third period showed some improvement for the Wranglers but only after just 4:10 into the frame, Erik Burgdoefer scored with assists from to Corbin and Naglich. The Condors made it 5-0 on a goal from Erik Lizon at 4:52. Lizon took a pass from Jean-Michael Beaudoin through the crease and jammed it home for the goal. The Wranglers got on the scoreboard with a slap shot from Blair Riley. The goal was setup by Patrick Brosnihan at 5:28. Las Vegas wrapped up the scoring with a goal from Barry Goers at 11:39. Craig Switzer and Ryan Huddy earned assists on the goal.
The two teams wrap up their preseason with a game in Bakersfield at Rabobank Arena this Saturday. The Wranglers will open up their regular season in Bakersfield the following Saturday, October 16th.
The Las Vegas Wranglers(r) are the ECHL affiliate to the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes and the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage.
The Wranglers host Opening Night on Friday, October 22nd, 2010 at 7:05 pm against Victoria. 2010-11 season seat packages are on sale now at (702) 471-PUCK. The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at the Orleans Arena, located adjacent to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue.
